A ‘Homa’ is a fire-puja, where sacred substances are offered in the homa fire and a ‘Puja’ is usually conducted without a fire.

Puja means the spontaneous happening which is born out of fullness and contentment. The state of mind with which the puja is performed, the materials (samagri) used and the chanting of mantras during the puja, have a profound effect on the environment and people the puja is intended for.
