Mula means "root" and this nakshatra is associated with getting to the root of the matter and makes for good investigative research as well as obsessive compulsive behavior. The Mula constellation is at the centre of the Milky Way Galaxy (Galactic Centre) and hence the Mula natives have the tendency to go to the core (Root) and depth of things. It is usually seen to take the natives to seek deep divine help or intervention in their lives. It is called as the "Foundation Star". Nirruti is the tutelary archetype of this nakshatra. In Mahabharata Nirruti is the wife of adharama (unjust/unlawful) and she represents the South-West direction. Mula is also depicted as Kali the fierce goddess who wears a necklace of skulls and human heads. Her wild dance destroys illusions; she helps us see reality, the disgusting and beautiful.

The very word ërelentlessí applies to Moola as it ceases to stop at anything unless it has had its fill and will. One of the key functions of this asterism is to uproot things that to them have lost their significance. As an impulsive constellation, the natives of Moola often regret their actions. The Jupiter influence is best brought out when the will of Moola is in harmony with the Universal will. This is where individuality, in synchronizing universality, attains its apex.

Often there are extreme reversals of fortune in life and a profound sense of loss because the idea is to learn lessons of detachment, look deeper into the meaning behind the circumstance, seek a higher power, and transform the experience into spiritual realization or enlightenment. Herbal medicines and alternative healing is also associated with Mula.

It suggests one who is searching after the origin of life, as well as one tied up or bound to a position of relative misfortune. It is a rakshasa or lower class star, sharp in nature, represented by butchers and other harmful elements of society. This person is clever and capable and possibly spiritually devoted but with an air of suspiciousness about them.

This is a recording of a course by Dr. Arjun Pai on Mula and will help you unleash its secrets to understand more about what this means for you and how it can help you in your life.
